GYM POLICIES
General Gym Rules

Respect your instructors, teammates, and yourself at all times.

No foul language, teasing, or bullying will be tolerated.

Parents and visitors must remain in the designated viewing area.

Food, gum, and sugary drinks are not allowed on the mats. Water bottles only.
-
Always bow when entering or leaving the mat area.

Class Etiquette

Students must arrive on time for class. If late, wait at the edge of the mat until the instructor welcomes you in.

Uniforms (gi or school-approved attire) must be clean and worn properly. Belts must be tied before stepping on the mat.

Fingernails and toenails must be trimmed short. No jewelry or watches on the mats.

Students must raise their hand if they need to leave the mat (bathroom, water, etc.).

Always listen carefully and follow directions the first time.

Safety Policies

No practicing techniques without instructor supervision.
-
Students must train with control and care for their partner.
-
Protective gear (mouthguards, gloves, shin guards, etc. if required) must be worn during sparring.

Report all injuries immediately to an instructor.
-
No roughhousing before or after class on the mats.

Attendance & Membership
-
Consistent attendance is expected for steady progress.
-
If a student needs to miss class, please notify the instructor when possible.

Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. Membership holds or cancellations must be requested in writing before the 1st.

What is your makeup policy?
-
Ward MMA is unable to offer students a makeup class for every class that they might miss.
-
Students can earn up to 1 makeup pass (per monthly session). Parent must notify Ward MMA via email 24 hours prior to missing their class.

All makeups need to be scheduled within 1 month of reporting the absence.
Does Ward MMA offer refunds/credits?

Ward MMA is unable to offer refunds or credits to families once billing has occurred.

Refunds/credits are not available once the month has started

Ward MMA will not offer refunds/credits for any missed classes, including those missed due to valid medical reasons.
Parent Policies

Please allow the instructors to handle discipline during class.

Encourage your child to practice respect, responsibility, and perseverance.

Do not coach from the sidelines during class.
-
Younger siblings must be supervised at all times and may not run onto the mats.

Promotion & Belt Testing

Belts and Stripes will be given at any time during the scheduled class
-
Promotion is earned, not given. Students must demonstrate readiness in all areas.

Code of Conduct

Students represent the gym both inside and outside of class. Martial arts skills are never to be used to bully, intimidate, or fight outside of self-defense.

Everyone must treat teammates as family—support, encourage, and help each other grow.

We train hard, stay humble, and always show respect.
